Join us for CAI's Mini Trade Show & Education Forum on November 15th at Ramblewood Country Club in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Attendance at this premiere event offers benefits for all members!

Roundtable 1: Assessment Recovery on a Budget
Description: How to maximize assessment recovery from delinquent owners with little assets

Roundtable 2: Capital Improvements – a 3rd Party Venture
Description: Undertaking a large capital project for your Community, whether roofing, paving, siding or something else, can be an expensive and time-consuming endeavor.  Should the Board take on the responsibility of making sure the project is done correctly and within budget?  This talk will explain how hiring a third party can assist the Community in dealing with a large project.  From writing specs and bid procurement, to monitoring the construction, learn how a third party can make the process simpler.

Roundtable 3: Preemptive Strike: Maintenance of Common Elements
Description: How maintaining your association’s common elements will save money in the long run.

Roundtable 4: How Modern Documentation Technology Can Save Associations Money
Description: Modern documentation technology can expand the capacity of inspections without increasing costs to associations.  See how drones, thermal imaging cameras, and automated fully rotational visual equipment can provide more detailed inspections while saving associations money.

Roundtable 5: Federal Fair Housing Act Amendments
Description: This topic will discuss discrimination in housing and address requests for a reasonable accommodation and/or modification by disabled residents.  In addition, topics regarding other requirements of the Act which prohibit discrimination against families with children

Roundtable 6: Is your Association considering a loan?  
Description: Best practices and frequently asked questions for receiving a loan in your association

Roundtable 7: Using ‘Mortgagee-in-Possession’ as a tool to collect overdue Assessments
Description: Using ‘Mortgagee-in-Possession’ as a tool to collect overdue Assessments has been an effective collection tool in past years, and although a new NJ Superior Court-Appellate Division opinion has the potential to reduce its effectiveness, we still believe it can be used to the Association’s advantage.

Roundtable 8: Storm Water Pond Management 101
Description: Learn about how storm water ponds function and understand the benefits of a proactive storm water lake or pond plan. Elements of proactive lake and pond maintenance plan may include aeration, vegetative buffer management to combat erosion and improve water quality, lake mapping, and environmentally friendly algae and aquatic weed control..

This course is approved by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) to fulfill continuing education requirements for the CMCA® certification.  This course will earn managers  (1) continuing education credit hour, which also help satisfy the requirements to apply for the PCAM designation.
