Legislative Action Committees

CAI's Legislative Action Committees (LAC) are the largest community association advocacy organization in the United States. The LACs are pro-active in introducing and advocating for legislation that is beneficial to community associations and are equally active in opposing legislation that may have an adverse impact on the interests of community associations.

Delegate Nomination Form. Deadline to submit a nomination form is August 1 of each year. Please also review and submit CAI's LAC Conflict of Interest policy.

Pennsylvania Legislative Action Committee

Is a non-profit committee comprised of delegates from throughout Pennsylvania.
Represents over millions of homeowners residing in an estimated 10-15,000 association-governed communities throughout Pennsylvania.
Is comprised of association homeowners, board members, and professionals.
Is not a PAC (Political Action Committee), and makes no contributions to political parties or candidates.
Is funded by the donations of members of Community Associations Institute.

What does the Pennsylvania LAC do?

Researches and reviews proposed legislation and takes positions on bills affecting association-governed communities.
Educates lawmakers, legislative and executive staff, and other organizations, and testifies before legislative bodies.
Meets regularly with lawmakers to help advance issues
Issues legislative alerts urging CAI members to convey our message to legislators
Holds an annual Community Associations Day in Harrisburg to get to know legislators and inform them of issues affecting homeowners and associations.

New Jersey Legislative Action Committee
