Share Your Knowledge; Reap the Benefits

Aug 12, 2016

Membership with Community Associations Institute offers myriad opportunities for business partners to increase brand awareness within the association. From sponsoring educational sessions and seminars to attending networking events like CAI’s Annual Golf Outing and Summer Networking Party to advertising in Community Assets magazine or the Annual Membership Directory & Resource Guide to exhibiting at the Annual Conference & Expo or an On the Road Mini Trade Show & Educational Forum, it’s easy for business partners to get their name out there, to increase awareness of their company, products, and services. As tremendous as those opportunities can be for a business partner member, they also cost money. Sometimes a lot of money.

So, are there inexpensive, even free, ways for you to increase your visibility within the CAI membership? You bet there are! One of the greatest things you can offer your fellow member (and potential client) is your knowledge. By sharing your wisdom with CAI members, you’re achieving a few important goals: (1) you’re showing members that might be interested in hiring you for the product or services and knowledge that you offer that you really do know your stuff; (2) you’re helping CAI achieve its goal of providing expert level education and training to our membership; and, (3) you’re making yourself both more recognizable and more respected among those people who are looking to hire someone just like you. Any way you look at it, it’s a tremendous opportunity for you and your company.

Super Speaker?

CAI is currently looking for members to submit topic proposals for 2017 educational seminars. If you’re comfortable speaking in front of an audience and you have an idea for an engaging, entertaining, and educational topic that you’re interested in presenting during a 2017 CAI program, now is the perfect time to submit your idea using our Call for Presentations submission form.

Presentations should feature content that is specifically relevant to community associations and should be targeted to community association managers, management company executives and homeowner board members. All submissions will be forwarded to the appropriate program committee for review and selection of presentations. The submission deadline is September 15 of each year for the following year's programs. To submit a proposed topic or for more information, click here.

Wonderful Writer?

Not everyone is comfortable getting up in front of a crowd. Fear not! CAI is also always looking for submissions for our award winning magazine, Community Assets, and our blog, @ Home with CAI. Published six times per year, Community Assets is mailed to approximately 1500 individuals, both members and prospects, and is also available as a digital edition for CAI members.

The @ Home with CAI blog posts shorter stories, typically, on trends, news, and issues important to our membership. Because of the nature of the internet, posts on @ Home can be even more timely and can be promoted via CAI’s social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
While articles are prohibited from being promotional in nature, contact information is printed for the author and company in both the magazine and blog and include hyperlinks in the digital edition of the magazine and every blog post.
