CAI announces formation of Business Partners Council

Sep 1, 2015

CAI is pleased to announce the creation of the chapter's first Business Partners Council.

This new committee will provide a forum for education, networking and outreach for business partner members of the chapter. The Business Partners Council (BPC) will work on developing and promoting educational and networking programs and services that will enhance the value of membership for business partner members and help increase membership among this member type.

The chapter has had a Managers Committee for many years, dating back to the mid 1990's. A Homeowners Committee has existed from time to time and was re-launched under the newly named Community Association Volunteers Committee in 2013. These two committees are charged with providing educational programs and engagement opportunities for their respective member representation groups. However, the chapter has never had a committee exclusively dedicated to Business Partners, which constitute a large segment of the membership.

Some of the responsibilities of this new committee include:

  • Assist with promotion of CAI’s Educated Business Partner program
  • Assist the chapter with promoting free opportunities for business partners to benefit from membership, including authoring articles for the magazine and chapter blog, and speaking at chapter programs
  • Explore and propose new programs and benefits for business partner members
  • Advise the chapter on effectiveness of advertising and sponsorship opportunities and suggest areas for improvement and expansion
  • Actively recruit program sponsors for all programs under the umbrella of the council to assist the chapter in meeting budget goals
  • Develop methods to promote programs and membership to business partners who are not CAI members

The committee will be formally organized and launched at the annual Chapter Kickoff which will be held in early January, 2016. Any business partner who is interested in serving on the council can complete the volunteer form and submit it to the chapter office by the deadline of December 1, 2015.
