Energy Benchmarking in Multifamily Buildings: Using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to Track and Benchmark Building Energy Use in Condos, Co-ops, and Apartments

This two-hour training will be offered on two different dates (June 10 and 11, 2015) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s regional office in Center City, Philadelphia.  The training will provide hands-on instruction on Portfolio Manager, ENERGY STAR’s web-based building benchmarking tool.  Participants will first be given a brief introduction to the tool, including a discussion of Portfolio Manager’s use in the multifamily sector (condos, co-ops, and apartment buildings), what sort of information the tool can provide to users, and recognition opportunities for buildings with improved energy performance.  After this brief introduction, the majority of the training will focus on guiding participants through Portfolio Manager, in a computer classroom setting.  The training will focus on showing participants how to set up an account, how to enter basic building and energy data, and how to generate reports.  The training is geared towards building owners and managers, and participants will be encouraged to bring data on the buildings they manage, including gross square footage, monthly energy usage, etc.

Two training sessions will be offered at the following times:

  1. Wed June 10 (1-3 pm; please arrive at 12:30 pm)
  2. Thurs June 11 (10 am-12 noon; please arrive at 9:30 am)

Participation is limited, so please RSVP by Monday, June 1. To RSVP please email Tony Campisi or call the chapter office at 610-783-1315.  Further details will be provided upon RSVP.
