Volunteer Profile: Julie McCormick Leads in the Poconos

Jul 1, 2014

Julie McCormick is an Account Executive at Engle-Hambright, & Davies, Inc.(EHD), a privately-held, independent insurance and risk management firm serving customers since 1896. More recently EHD has grown to become one of the largest and most reputable insurance brokers in the United States, nearing the Top 100 Insurance Brokers out of 38,500 insurance agencies. While EHD offers commercial property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, and risk management services to businesses and individuals primarily headquartered in Pennsylvania and the surrounding Mid-Atlantic States, Julie's focus has been as a specialist in providing tailored insurance solutions and risk management plans for the specific needs of Community Associations for the past seven years.

Julie's approach to working with clients is about understanding their challenges and goals, as well as uncovering issues, exposures and needs. Providing clients with a comprehensive service plan that includes coverage analysis, loss analysis, contract review, loss control and claims advocacy has been key to managing their cost of risk and retaining their business year after year.

Julie holds a B.A. in Business/Psychology from Albright College, and an M.A. is Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University.  She recently attained the ARM (Associate in Risk Management) insurance designation. She is the current chair of the Pocono Mountain Regional Council and has been involved with CAI since 2008.  Julie has provided educational presentations through the Speakers Bureau at CAI events, and provides insurance seminars to community associations via other company-sponsored events.

She represents strong, stable A-rated carriers through EHD, who provide tailored insurance coverage for associations.  Due to the volume of business done with association markets, both EHD and customers enjoy preferred pricing.  Julie has expertise in providing coverage for all types of communities with exposures such as armed security, larger lakes and water sports, ski hills, and many other recreational amenities that are common to associations. Clients are often thankful for the hands-on assistance provided in making their communities safer, and the fact that much time is spent throughout the year, not just at renewal time.

Julie resides in the Lehigh Valley with her two children and enjoys gardening, exercising and hiking.
