Volunteer Profile: Ken Dash, Philadelphia Council President

Apr 29, 2014

Ken Dash is the President of Dash & Love, Inc., a third generation family owned and operated insurance firm with an expertise in community-association coverage.  He has been a member of the firm for over 20 years, providing risk management and property and casualty insurance solutions to their business clients. With his broad range of experience, Ken tailors custom insurance and risk-management programs for each client. Because of his hands-on service approach, he develops an understanding of a business so he can properly protect and cover exposures.

Ken holds a B.A. degree in History from Tufts University. He has served on the boards of several national and local organizations including the Young Entrepreneurs Organization; Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia; Jewish National Fund; Martins Run Retirement Community; and Green Valley Country Club.

Ken is currently the chair of the CAI Philadelphia Regional Council. He is also a member of the chapter’s Speakers Bureau, and speaks on insurance and risk management topics.

Ken’s services begin with a study of the association’s Declarations and Bylaws, to ensure that the insurance program is consistent with its provisions. He provides owner communication and education programs on a regular basis for client associations, including in-house seminars and annual coverage-reviews for unit owners.

He has long-term relationships with top-rated insurers who have tailored insurance programs especially for their clients. These programs include high Umbrella Liability limits to protect the association, its unit owners, directors and officers, and property manager in the event of a catastrophic claim. Blanket Property coverage is provided on an Agreed-Value Basis to ensure that the association has adequate limits to repair or replace all covered property. Special Workers Compensation insurance programs also are available that include the lowest premium rates for association employees.

Ken just celebrated his 19th wedding anniversary with his wife Kelly.  They have two children and live in Lower Merion, PA.  Ken’s hobbies include gardening, golf and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.
