Five Chapter Homeowner Members Honored by CAI

Apr 15, 2014

Almost 80 community association board members from 20 states and Washington, D.C.—all of them homeowners who lead their communities as volunteers—have been recognized as part of CAI’s first-ever Community Association Leader Appreciation Month. Coinciding with National Volunteer Month in April, CAI created the initiative to call attention to the estimated 1.7 million Americans who serve on boards that govern more than 328,000 homeowners associations, condominiums and cooperatives across the country.

Congratulations to Timothy O. Cooney, Morgandale Condominium Association in Lansdale, PA; Janet Foltz, Traditions at Inniscrone Homeowners Association in Avondale, PA; James P. Grimes, Green Tree Run Community Association in Philadelphia, PA; Lois Kinney, Summit House Condominium Association in West Chester, PA; and William D. Staken, Traditions at Christiana Homeowners Association in Newark, DE who were among nearly 80 community association volunteer leaders from 20 states and Washington, DC recognized by the national organization of Community Associations Institute during Community Association Leader Appreciation Month in April.

These individuals were nominated by their colleagues and peers because they symbolize the commitment and skills of community association leaders.

As an international organization dedicated to building better communities, we salute the board members and their hundreds of thousands of peers who accept the commitment and responsibility of making their communities great places to call home. Their stories reflect the very best of community involvement, volunteerism, and leadership.
