New Features coming to Community Assets in 2014

Oct 25, 2013

CAI's Communicatins & Content Committee has some big plans in the work for 2014, including new features in our chapter magazine and new content on this blog that will highlight educational topics, profile chapter volunteers, and more.

Community Spotlight

Community Assets is expanding to a forty page spread in 2014 and with the larger size, the magazine will also include a few new features. One such feature will be a regular Community Spotlight article. The Communications & Content Committee is looking for community associations with positive stories to highlight in each issue of the magazine—from charity work to  profiles of notable volunteers to innovative new programs. If you are a community association homeowner, board member, or manager in an association with a positive story to tell, email Mike Shaw at the chapter office with the subject line: Community Spotlight.

Asked & Answered

Beginning in 2014, each issue of Community Assets will feature a question answered by industry experts. For the January / February issue, our Asked & Answered question is this:

Q: Our condominium association has a swimming pool and every year we hire lifeguards for the pool season even though there is no ordinance that requires the association to have lifeguards. This year the board is contemplating the need for lifeguards. If the association does not hire lifeguards: Will it impact our insurance costs or our ability to obtain insurance? Will it increase our liability? Are there steps that should be taken by the association to further protect the association?

Experts, weigh in with your view! Send in your brief responses to the question above via email to Mike Shaw with the subject line: Ask the Experts.
